The Legacy lives on...

The legacy of RWC2015 is alive and kicking in Exeter, with the launch of Mini’s Academy; the next phase in the success story of My First Rugby Ball.

Launching in style to over 20 youngsters, at Ide Primary School, the Academy runs as an after school club for 4 - 7 year olds, in schools, across the city of Exeter and has the backing and support of RWC2015 legacy partners throughout Devon.

The 45 minute sessions are delivered by Exeter Chiefs, Community Coaches and the programmes are written by our very own former Chief; Nic Sestaret. Sessions will focus on developing the core skills; agility, balance & co-ordination and will keep fun, positivity and an understanding of the games’ values at its heart.

Academy children will also be invited to join our two day Academy Holiday Clubs which will run during the Easter & Summer Holidays. Director of Coaching, former Exeter Chief; Nic Sestaret, will lead the initial after school sessions;

“This is a great opportunity for the children to learn, right from the start, that the most important part of learning anything new,

is to have fun and not to worry about making mistakes. That is the way we learn and that is how we grow as players.

I think that this is an excellent thing for the children and I am looking forward to spending more time back in Exeter” Nic

It’s been a fantastic start to the year with almost 100 children now enrolled. It looks like they’re loving it too with both parents and children giving some amazing feedback!

“I love your rugby because you play awesome games”

Issey Thomas, Clyst Heath School

“Daisy (4 yrs) said that her first session at Ide was her best day ever! She loved playing and meeting Mini. Keep up the fabulous work!”

Daisy’s mum
