We are super excited to announce our first Summer Camps for Academy members. With the long summer holidays just around the corner, it’s time to start making plans & our awesome friends over at Topsham RFC have kindly offered to host the sessions throughout the summer!
Led, coached and designed by our very own Nic Sestaret, the camps will take the skills chidlren have been learning throughout the year, at school, a few steps further, focusing on:
- Strengthening hand/eye co-ordination
- Ball handling skills
- Leadership skills
- An understanding of those core values
Endorsed by RWC2015 legacy partners; Active Devon, Exeter City Council and Exeter Community Chiefs, the camps are the prefect platform from which to strengthen those core skills of agility, balance and co-ordination, whilst focusing on the games values and having lots of fun!
Whilst not every child will follow in Nic's amazing footsteps or even go on to play the game, the key elements of the camps, as with all our sessions, is to instil a sense of confidence and a love of being active, alongside the development of those core skills.
At the heart of all our sessions lies the commitment to see every child leave the camps, having had fun and feeling that they've achieved and learnt something new. Whether they've learnt a new ball skill, worked well as a team, laughed or made a new friend; the key is being active and having fun.
With first class coaching, a guest list almost as impressive as the coaching itself & the great facilities at Topsham, including the hot food option; the Academy camps are definitely the place to be this summer!
The sessions will run each week through the summer holidays on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 10am and 3pm commencing on the 27th and 28th of July at a cost of £45 per week. Numbers will be limited to just 25, so to reserve your place just sign up online.
